Leftwing & Kody make real waves with their Gully EP on Moon Harbour last year, and now they follow it up with another firing selection of club ready cuts. The Suara and Truesoul associates really know how to nail a groove and that is proved here once more.
All four tracks are direct affairs, with opener Detuned pairing chattery claps with siren like stabs that raise the hairs on your back on end. Jungle bird calls add to the steaminess and ensure maximum results. Rock That is filled with tension and over rubber drums the pinging kicking bring real dynamics. Marvellous featuring Room 303 is all about the dry hits and skating drums. It’s one that ducks and dives and has sci-fi synths shooting through the groove, then Ruff builds yet more pressure with whirring machines, blasts of white noise and myriad synth lines all kicking off. These are real weapons that any DJ needs in their bag.
