DFTD VLM01 mixed by Cristoph is the first in a new mix album series from Defected’s breakout label DFTD. Epitomising the label’s commitment to unearthing and championing genuine underground talent, this first edition features tracks from Andrea Oliva, Aaaron, Forrest, Kiani & His Legion, Man Without A Clue and many more including seven brand new and exclusive records. 
 
Little more than 12 months since it launched, DFTD has become a byword for quality deep, techy house music. Supported by an impressive array of renewed DJs and producers, the label has gone from strength to strength, with this, its first venture into the mix album format marking yet another significant milestone for the young label.
 
With two DFTD-released EPs to his name – last year’s acclaimed Guffaz EP and the forthcoming Right Now EP – Cristoph was an obvious front-runner to kick off the label’s new series. Musically defined by his muscular, club-ready house cuts, Cristoph has also established himself as a DJ of note, with upcoming gigs for Defected In The House, We Are FSTVL, BoOom! Ibiza and Ministry of Sound.
 
DFTD VLM01 mixed by Cristoph boasts a wealth of new material, with no fewer than seven brand new records that will only be available on this compilation. Particularly noteworthy are Cristoph’s own remix of J.Cub ‘Give You My Love’ and a new reworking of NiCe7 ‘Time To Get Physical’ by Beatport chart-topping duo Tube & Berger.
 
Though a relatively young label, DFTD has already established itself as a key player in the deep house scene with a robust catalogue of release, many of which are included here. Cuts from established producers Guti, Re.You and Andre Lodemann demonstrate DFTD as an attractive outlet for celebrated electronic artists.
 
With the first anniversary of DFTD fast approaching, this first instalment in what will be an ongoing series is a statement of intent for the future of an already blossoming record label.
