DIMENSIONS Boat Party line-ups land

Dimensions Festival returns to the iconic Fort Christa Punto this August; and for it’s sixth edition, there’s a massive five days in store; with seven stages, over 100 artists, an abandoned fortress, and of course, Dimensions’ much loved boat parties. The Harbour sees off over 20+ setting sail, embarking on Adriatic adventures with local heroes, revered labels, heavyweight global spinners and underground icons all stepping behind the boat’s booth. Brands like Stamp the Wax, Rush Hour, Resident Advisor, Feelings, Metalheadz, Hessle Audio, Ampere and Rhythm Section will navigate the seas with some serious sounds from midday Thursday through until Sunday. An essential part to the Dimensions experience, the boat parties offer up an unmissable slice of action away from the iconic Fort Punta Christo. Available only with a festival ticket, limited passes for each boat are available from just £20 and are on sale Thursday 22nd June at 8pm (BST). Move fast, as tickets don’t last long for these!

Kicking the Dimension’s Adriatic rave ups off to a banging start, Thursday starts with a journey through rare house, Afro and disco gems with Rush Hour, featuring diggers Antal, DJ Okapi and Esa as part of the label’s 20th anniversary. Seaside Party mavericks, Patterns, team up with Vice City, as NYC’s Mister Saturday Night, the kingpins of quality house cuts take the lead. Dimensions SoundSystem present their own boat with special guests Mala and Kode 9 bringing the dub and UK bass sound. Liverpool'sAbandon Silence return, bringing resident Andrew Hill and DJ’s Sassy J and Dimensions fave Joy Orbison along for 3 hours of genre-spanning body movers. Into the dark, the last boats throw a nod to Berlin, Helena Hauff’s dark electro infused sound is set to chop up the waters, with Marcel Dettmann navigating the vessel back to shore with his signature rolling techno. Binh and friends join the Butter Side Up crew, loved by dancers and DJ’s alike, it’s a house, techno and disco trip with a Perlonized tip.

Feel-good sunshine sounds all round next up; Friday sees Bodytonic returning to idyllic Croatia. With Horse Meat Disco in tow, it’s guaranteed smiles and non-stop dancing onboard. Meanwhile, audiophiles will undoubtedly seek out the Brilliant Corner’s takeover. Heading out to sea with special guests TBA, expect sounds synonymous with their venue – eclectic and refined. Resident Advisor’s outing is a stellar afternoon session with the legendary Craig Richards and woman of the moment Willow. Rounding out the evening are The Hessle Audio troupe bringing their signature sound alongside guest, Josey Rebelle. For a late night foray into every corner of the world, the Stamp the Wax crew onboard with a vast array of sounds. Afrobeat, funk and soul giving way to house and techno, it’s a melting pot of anything that’s good from residents Aaron L and Harri Pepper, followed by Alma Negra before Detroit Don Scott Groovesgraces the decks on deck.

Dure Vie’s takeover sets the scene for a seriously blissed-out boat. With Dusty Fingers warming up weary revellers and Folamour’s body movin’ house and lo-fi beats paving the way for Dimensions’ mainstay Dan Shake; it’s a guaranteed feel good party. Repping London to Leeds, party mavens Cosmic Slop and Rhythm Section team up bringing label heads and residents Bradley Zero, Cosmic Tom and Mike Greenwell for an otherworldly afternoon journey through intergalactic genres.  EXIT Records set sail with label head dBridge, Alix Perez, Skeptical and SP:MC picking up the pace with maximum energy with multi tempo beats and drum 'n' bass. On a more leftfield tip, there’s the DDS boat, with a DJ set from Modern Love poster team Demdike Stare, plus futurist dancehall crew Equiknoxx. The evening boats kick off with Ampere, voyaging through techno sounds with Fachwerk Records boss Mike Dehnert, plus Dutch hero Interstellar Funk, an artist recognised for pushing the scene forward in Holland across the years. We journey from Peckham to Pula with stores Rye Wax and YAM Records pulling together an off-the-ground, underground session. Though a far cry from the streets of South London, it’s good vibes and a close-knit family feel with Radioactive Man, Alexander Robotnick bringing the electro and italo alongside residents all aboard.

With a mega schedule of parties for the final day at Sea, Sunday kicks off with Fuse and We Bring You, boasting a line up of house and techno dons, it’s straight in with the goods as Borealis and Pierre temper the waves ahead of Lakuti and Panorama Bar resident Tama Sumo. Cruising on, Sounds Familiar present a Soul In The Hole collaboration enlisting Sadar Bahar and Lee Collins’ eclectic selections to lead the way. Heads behind London’s newest mag, The Move flex the best in local and long-distance artists, bringing a melting pot of worldly sounds, with MNDSGN’s R&B and boogie funk, Kerem Akdag’s soulful house, while Henry Wu and Thris Tian present their Rice & Peas Soundsystem. The final voyages will be something special with the Metalheadz Drum n Bass fam celebrate the label and its legacy with Randall, Doc Scott and Kid Drama spinning alongside Ant TC1 with MC GQ spitting bars sharp as ever.
