XOYO are proud to announce, electronic music veteran DJ Koze will headline the clubs 2016 New Years Eve celebration.
Described as one of the most integral musicians in dance music, Stefan Kozalla aka DJ Koze has forged a trailblazing career with his revered future thinking productions and fabled DJ sets which are an experience all of their own.
After years of DJing hip-hop, his turntablism prowess has filtered into his techno and house sets in a way that strips apart any preconception of how the genres should be played. Koze's untried techniques create something totally unique. An intricate blend of breaks and beats which can verge on psychedelic with all of the emotion and ecstasy of the music left in – the perfect setting to bring in the new year.
His ability doesn't go unrecognised with Germany’s respected SPEX magazine voting DJ Koze 'DJ Of The Year' from 1999 to 2006 – that’s 8 years back-to-back with not even a trace of competition.
The mid-2000's saw Kozalla take his DJ Koze project to new heights with a string of essential releases on Cologne's venerated Kompakt label. He kept the momentum up with his own Pampa Records, tied to arguably the most danceable house and techno tracks in the scene with Koze himself responsible for some of the labels biggest tracks (check XTC, Amygdala, his remix of Mathew Herbert's 'It's Only' and collaboration with Jamie xx on 'Come We Go' under his Kosi Kos guise). Showing no sign of letting up, Koze came back this summer with a remix of Låpsley's 'Operator' seeing constant rotation from a slew of big names – the man is unstoppable.
Set to be our most memorable New Years Eve party yet, we cannot wait to welcome one of our all-time favourite DJs to XOYO on the biggest night in the clubbing calendar.
