Lisbon-born, African-rooted and globally inspired DJ and producer DJEFF launches a brand new chapter in his musical journey with the release of “Wena” – available from March 28, 2025 via Kazukuta Records. Featuring the vocal expertise of renowned South African artist Shoba, this highly anticipated new record is the second single from DJEFF’s forthcoming album, ODYSSEY, following the release of “Lelo” ft. Boule Mpanya in October 2024.
A master at blending African rhythms with contemporary electronic soundscapes, DJEFF continues to push musical boundaries with this latest sonic masterpiece. Literally meaning “you” in Zulu, “Wena” showcases his signature style—where deep, soulful house meets pulsating Afro-house grooves—while incorporating Shoba’s distinct vocal artistry to create a rich, immersive listening experience.
“Wena” is not just a song; it’s a statement of artistic synergy, bringing together two powerhouse talents from different corners of the African continent. Shoba, previously known as Shota, is a Durban-based singer, producer, and DJ whose genre-defying approach to music has earned him widespread acclaim. From his groundbreaking solo album “Afro-Rawmantic” to collaborations with industry heavyweights, Shoba has remained a driving force in the evolution of Afro-house and soulful dance music.
Born in Lisbon, Portugal, to an Angolan mother and a Cape Verdean father, DJEFF’s music is deeply rooted in his heritage. His journey has taken him from a young aspiring artist in Portugal to a globally recognized DJ and producer, performing at some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including Exit Festival, Caprice Festival, Tomorrowland, Savaya Bali, and Hï Ibiza.
