DJHMC - DJHMC – 6AM & Maurader

Reflector Records is proud to announce that ground-breaking Australian DJHMC is making a long overdue and hugely welcome return in 2015.

Kick starting the label are some brilliantly remastered tracks that are set to remind us just how vital Carmelo Bianchetti aka DJHMC remains to this day. This is an all new platform to showcase totally re-mastered versions of his back catalogue as well as to provide a vehicle to bring his current and previously unreleased work to his already loyal following and new believers.

DJHMC (which stands for House Master Cam) also records as the influential Late Nite Tuff Guy and is best known for being one of the pioneering forces on the Australian house and techno scene (in fact he and the labels Juice and Dirty House were responsible for his hometown Adelaide’s title of ‘Australia’s Detroit’). As such, Bianchetti has been a key global player since the early nineties, and from 1995 until a few years ago, he turned out classic track after classic track on labels like Darkroom Dubs, Music Man and many other top imprints. Now he is back in the driving seat and is heading out on a European tour which includes another huge date at Berghain on June 28th. Before that though, two killer cuts are all lined up and ready to go.

The essential ‘6AM’ first arrived in 1996 but all these years later it still holds up as one of the best acid tracks of the 90’s. It’s a sublime track riddled with supple drums that really work their way under your skin. As the 303 rides up and down the scale, crisp claps as icy hi hats cut right through the mix. It’s a real spine tingler, to be sure.

‘Marauder’ initially landed in 2001 on Juice Records. Well over a decade later it is still a definitive track that hurries along in slick style. As rooted drums roll along down below, soulful synths twist and turn up top and will have you doing the same. Crisp and expertly reduced, it is a heady bit of techno that also manages to be perfectly physical.

This brilliant brace of beats is sure to put DJHMC right back in the thick of it, just where he belongs.
