The only outdoor festival that takes place during ADE week is back once again in 2016 and promises to raise the bar once more. Running for 12 hours on 22nd October, Dockyard Festival marries Dutch industrial heritage with contemporary clubbing at ADE, all going down at the abandoned shipyard setting of NDSM Werf.
The line up this year features returning favourites as well as hot new names from the worlds of deep house, tech house and techno because Dockyard is about evolving and looking forward, not just repeating the same tricks over and over. Brand partners for 2016 include Mindshake, FACT and Sci + Tec plus Terminal One Presents Blacksheep, UnPaved and XT3 Present Polegroup.
There will be some very special guests at the event that will be announced soon, plus Art Department and Christian Wünsch, Paco Osuna and Gaiser, Paul Ritch and Dubfire, Monika Kruse and Marco Bailey, The Advent & Industrialyzer, Johannes Heil and the cult favourites RPR Soundsystem, [a:apia:r], Oscar Mulero, Jonas Kopp b2b Pfirter and many more.
The Werf is a former shipyard that has been converted with real creative soul to incorporate off beat eateries and top events, musical and otherwise. It has been chosen because of its link with the history of Amsterdam as well as its great industrial heritage and is truly special.
It will be fully taken over with brilliant production and various different areas all offering a unique and unrivalled experience that comes complete with organic food, huge tents and thrilling light shows that are the most spectacular you will find anywhere in Amsterdam. As such, it is fair to say that Dockyard really has brought lots of international attention on this exciting area of the city having formerly been a cold and forgotten concrete paradise. Without them it would still be a place lost to history.
As such, rest assured that Dockyard 2016 will once again be the first and last party you need to attend in 2016.
