Paskal Daze - Don’t You Want Me EP
Paskal Daze is a Canadian artist who makes big house tunes. His latest comes on the well formed Griffintown label and is backed with a brace of brilliant remixes from Lee Jeffrey and Kokks & Lein.
The pick of the bunch for me is actually the Kokks & Lein remix. Their version is a shuffling stripped back and cool garage house tune that echoes the retro New York sounds of the 90s. It’s got great drums and funky bass and really gets you going. The original meanwhile is a bigger, more energetic track with colourful synths and a massive vocal that anyone will be familiar with so should make this one a monster in the clubs. The Lee Jeffrey remix is somewhere in between with tech percussion and frosted synth lines all adding to the overall effect of the classic sample and rolling drums. Once again then this is a top EP from Griffintown.
