Doorly’s Reptile Dysfunction Hosts Room 1 Takeover at fabric

Doorly’s inimitable Reptile Dysfunction label caps an incredible year with a Room 1 takeover at London’s fabric, with Green Velvet, Mele, Griff, Charlie Rope and Doorly himself taking care of business.
 
Since launching back in 2016, Reptile Dysfunction has served both as an outlet for some of Doorly’s weirder and more leftfield productions, and to give a platform to the up-and-coming artists in whom he truly believed: Trooko, Tan Dem, Griff and Charlie Rope amongst them. It’s also proved a haven for established artists to release idiosyncratic records that don’t necessarily fit on other labels, with Skream, Patrick Topping, Mike Skinner, Idris Elba and Soul Clap all contributing extraordinary music over the last two years.
 
2018 also saw the launch of Reptile Dysfunction events, with sold-out shows at Miami Music Week and SXSW, and an Ibiza summer residency at Pikes packed to the rafters with happy, musically adventurous rave lizards. Now the label is bringing that party spirit to London, to cap off a quite exceptional year at the capital’s most revered club.
 
As with anything Doorly puts his name to, he’s managed to pull together a line-up of the upmost quality for fabric’s Room 1 takeover, with Green Velvet, Mele, Griff, Charlie Rope and of course the man himself.
 
“What other club could we possibly choose to make our UK debut with our Reptile Dysfunction experience! We've been sharpening our teeth in Ibiza and the USA and now its time to bring it home.
 
“I've been lucky enough to play in that Room 1 DJ box several times in my career so far, but to be able to curate the whole night is mind blowing and a real honor. This will be a monumental celebration for the label of what we have achieved so far and all the lovely stuff we have planned in the future! I'll be the first one in the building and the last one out… see you there!” Doorly
 
In Room Two, Low Steppa returns. The Birmingham producer has had a huge level of success in recent years, releasing across the likes of Simma Black and Strictly Rhythm. Tommy Vercetti also joins, bringing the type of classic house and disco that’s become his hallmark stylem, while Kinnerman and Alisha make their debuts to round off the bill.
