Berlin’s Double Major is keeping the energy high and holding on to summer with his latest released single ‘NO’. Following the nu-disco dive-in ‘KBN’ and the similarly grooving debut ‘RKR’, Double Major serves up a colourful, synth-driven floor-filler that nods to the 80s, showcases his cultural heritage, and kickstarts a scene revival.
Funk-fuelled bass stomps alongside a dancey drum selection; swelling synth lines take a pounding backbeat to new heights. Overall, its glossy production brings a pop polish to an infectious dancefloor bounce.
Beneath is a deeper message, the artist shares, “This song is about a very important lesson I’ve learned in life. Something we all probably have to face at some point. To get what you really want, you have to be ready to say NO to everything else. It’s a powerful word in today’s world and is more than just a denial. It is drawing a boundary, setting a goal, and indicating a preference for something greater. It’s about not accepting consolations, and recognising your worth.”
