Live electronic duo Double Touch have graced All Day I Dream with their newest four-track Gran Amigo EP, out now.
On Gran Amigo, Double Touch carefully sculpt a four-track collection that blurs the lines between live performance and electronic precision, drawing on their global outlook and formal music backgrounds. Unfolding into a mellifluous landscape of layered piano melodies, rich synth arrangements, and organic percussion over its 23 minutes, Gran Amigo was crafted to move bodies and stir emotion.
The EP opens with ‘Come With Me’, a seven-minute rhythmic slow-burner that pairs beautifully with the intricate drumwork of ‘Desire’. Flowing into its titular track, Gran Amigo builds with atmospheric textures and absorbent melodies before diving into the deep, meditative waves of ‘Amour’. A marvelous showcase of clarity and control, Gran Amigo captures the sonic radiance that Double Touch bring to their dancefloor experience.
Based between Sydney and Los Angeles, Double Touch is the live electronic duo of classical pianist and composer Van-Anh Nguyen and DJ, drummer, and producer Mark Olsen. Double Touch first appeared on All Day I Dream with their Adagio EP in 2019, followed by Greatest Day in 2020 and Storm in 2022. They’ve also made yearly contributions to the label’s Summer Sampler compilations and joined Lee Burridge and crew for select dates on tour.
Gran Amigo is an elegant addition to their growing catalog of wondrous All Day I Dream EPs. Stream Double Touch’s new album Gran Amigo out now on all platforms.
