Back in April, Ohio boy LuvAbstract delighted listener’s ears with ‘Risk’, a track that spoke to the YOLO part of our mind. Well, he’s back with a brand new track that is every bit dream-pop electronica, and it is so good.
LuvAbstract is a storyteller, and this time is no different. ‘Driveway’ tells the personal tale of a goodbye that perhaps was a little too premature; something which everyone can indeed relate to.
“This story was written about me. Everyone has been in the situation where they want a few more moments to gain the courage to kiss that person. This song is a representation of how I felt during this date with ‘her’,” he said.
It’s an uplifting song that communicates the innocence of such a powerful moment.
“The song starts off with me driving to her house after our date. I still remember everything from that night. From the song that was playing on my broken radio, to the route we took to her house,”he said.
As the track builds, so too does the anticipation of what’s to come.
“The second verse is the build-up to that perfect first kiss. I nervously walked her to her door, and even though it was only a few steps, it felt like I was walking miles,” he said.
Cue all of the gushy feels.
“I wrote this song in the hopes that listeners could relate to my personal experience,” he said.
No doubt this track will strike a chord with many fans, and lucky for all of us it is just a small taste of LuvAbstract‘s next ep that is set for release in November – until then you can get yourself familiar with ‘Driveway’ via Spotify & Apple Music.
