Dubdogz, Maxximal, and MC Hollywood Deliver House Magic in “Oi Oi Oi”

Brazil’s fastest-rising production duo Dubdogz continues their recent release streak with their latest crowd-pleasing anthem, “Oi Oi Oi.” Joining forces with two other major players in the Brazilian dance music scene, Maxximal and MC Hollywood, Dubdogz injects their trademark bouncy Brazilian Bass sound into a New Wave classic: “Psycho Killer.” An ode to Talking Heads’ transformative ‘77 record, “Oi Oi Oi” blends the old with the new to deliver the producers’ most anticipated single yet. “Oi Oi Oi” is out now via HUB Records.

Dubdogz has wasted no time since kicking off the new year. January saw them return to Smash The House with “Mission Impossible,” and their home imprint Spinnin’ Records with “I Don’t Mind (feat. Selva),” a sultry collaboration with VINAI and Malou. Since breaking into the scene in 2016, the duo has gained a reputation for being one of the hardest-working rising acts in the Brazilian electronic music scene. Their unwavering charisma and knack for crafting irrefutably infectious dancefloor anthems have landed them slots at some of the world’s most coveted festivals, including Tomorrowland Belgium, EDC Orlando & Mexico, Ushuaïa Ibiza, Rock in Rio, Lollapalooza, EDC Mexico, Tomorrowland Brazil, XXXperience, Electric Zoo, and Ultra Brazil. With “Oi Oi Oi,” the duo returns to Latin America’s leading electronic music label, HUB Records, which has hosted records from the likes of Alok, FTampa, Felguk, and many more.

After teasing the record as a secret weapon in their recent setlists, Dubdogz is ready to unleash the tune that has been driving crowds crazy. “Oi Oi Oi” combines the duo’s pulsating Brazilian Bass touch with David Byrne’s epochal chorus, the throbbing bass line from Maxximal’s 2020 hit, “Super Bitch 2.0,” (1.5+ million streams), and a sample from Brazilian Funk maestro MC Hollywood’s “Rapidamente Treme o Bumbum” (8+ million streams). “The creative process of ‘Super Bitch’ started with the main bass of the song and the synthesizer giving the main rhythm along with the drums, the other elements followed as the song was being created. When I made it I was thinking only and exclusively about the dance floor, in a way that it was a piece of dance music that fits with many styles of electronic music,” says Maxximal, “the new version is very creative. The vocal “Oi Oi Oi Oi” fits perfectly and gives a very relaxed atmosphere without losing the original vibe of the song, giving explosion and a lot of vibe in the drop.” The result is an explosive fusion of different styles of Brazilian music perfectly primed for peak-time club and festival moments worldwide, “the break is sensational where the idea of the 2.0 version was kept with just a few adjustments and changes to make it even more explosive! It is totally awesome!
