ionnalee - Dunes of Sand

ionnalee releases the sumptuous and moody cut, ‘DUNES OF SAND’, which features the vocals of Jamie Irrepressible from The Irrepressibles. ionnalee met Jamie during her world tour as lead vocalist with Röyksopp over the past couple of years, the whole group became tight-knit. 

'DUNES OF SAND’ starts off as a slow ballad but, just when you least expect it, the coda arrives with an eruption that elevates it to 'Absolute Banger' status. ionnalee herself refers to it as one of her best musical moments of her ten year career as a record releasing artist and producer.

Watch ionnalee perform 'DUNES OF SAND' live, returning to her childhood home of Fivelstad’s community church accompanied by her iamamiwhoami colleague Claes Björklund on organ. The same place where ionnalee began to master singing and playing piano. “There were no instruments in my home and no places to hang out living in the middle of nowhere. I was allowed to exercise my singing in church, so this is where it all began for me”.
