ELECTRIC ISLAND CANADA DAY EDITION

Wow! What incredible success that was for the first Electric Island of the season, which featured Tuskegee (Seth Troxler B2B Martinez Brothers), Pan-Pot, Steve Lawler and Tom Trago on Hanlan’s Point as we celebrated our Queen Victoria. Beautiful people arrived to the island by ferry, eager to see the new location and set up of this years Electric Island concert + picnic Series. A vast space of grass and trees enclosed up to 7,000 partygoers, while still encompassing an intimate family vibe. The day was perfection.

Coming up next in the Electric Island Series is another stacked line-up of the world’s best artists in deep, house, and techno music. On July 1st we celebrate our beautiful and vibrant Country with the likes of international heavy weights, Sasha, Marcel Dettmann, Lee Foss and Dennis Ferrer. We will hear an eclectic whirl of deep house and techno from Hot Creations label boss Lee Foss, bringing the island to life with colours of sexy vocals and massive basslines. Best known for incorporating a raw American New York vibe to real deep house music, Objektivity owner Dennis Ferrer will get the party moving on July 1st. Techno heads! Don’t fear… Marcel Dettmann’s Here! German techno’s finest will bring all the sizzling hi-hats, kick drums, and basslines to Hanlan’s Point this Canada Day. Dettmann’s music can best be described through his description of techno as a product which “Draws its tension and momentum from a historically grown tradition and the conscious decision to break the rules.” – Marcel Dettmann

Last but not least, a true leader in forward-thinking music and producers, Sasha headlines this years Canada Day edition of Electric Island concert + picnic Series. Sasha is a staple to house music today, and has made a significant impact on the electronic music scene with his label Last Night On Earth. Sasha delivers the true meaning of the word “progressive” house, playing sets that grow and lead you through a magical experience. We warmly welcome him on July 1st to bring this experience to the island. The day will commence with local support from Jeff Button, Jonathan Rosa and Greg Gow.
