If you haven’t yet been to Electric Island, here’s what it’s all about…Throughout the Summer Platform, CODA, and Embrace host a concert and picnic series every long weekend Monday starting Victoria Day long weekend through to Labour Day long weekend. This concert series is most certainly one with a view, as you start the journey off with a beautiful ferry ride across Lake Ontario to Toronto Island. A quick 15 minutes later you arrive and feel like you are in a different world. A sea of trees, and luscious grass surrounds you, as you walk along a path using the growing bass to guide you to your final destination. Greeted by happy and familiar faces, you’ve arrived and are ready to face the music.
Electric Island’s incredibly orchestrated line-ups fill your day with the worlds leading names in underground house and techno music. Last year Electric Island showcased artists such as Sven Väth, Mano Le Tough, Daniel Avery, Dixon, Martinez Brothers, Henrick Schwarz, DJ Tennis, Maya Jane Coles, Bob Moses, My Favorite Robot, Tale Of Us, Jamie XX and Hot Since 82 along with Toronto’s favourite local talents.
Food trucks, and picnic tables are spread out across the designated space – and a number of bars are set up to feed all the Electric Island goer’s cravings!
