A track that is dipped in nostalgia yet with a funky modern twist, Cork trio The Love Buzz return with ‘Sainsburys’, taken from their electrifying new EP ‘Here Comes The Scum’.
The Irish alternative rock band first burst onto the scene with their debut offering ‘Candy Flip’, and have since perfected their craft to bring us an even more polished and punchy flair that is addictively cool. ‘Sainsburys’ has a captivating rhythm that is made up of mellow riffs and energetic vocals, striking a balance between the two that is playful and cheeky. Described as being about “a tale of romance, jealousy and violence”, the Cork natives took inspiration from their own reality, quoting the lyrics as relating to “the dangerous mentality of young lads” that is “ever prevalent in British culture, a fish out of water story with a happy ending.”
The three piece, consisting of Aidan Lynch, Henry Love and Kieran Hurley, beam with a youthful quality that makes their music so enticing, and their dynamic approach to song writing never fails to surprise. Gearing up for a year of further releases, and most importantly fun, be sure to add The Love Buzz to your must listen list.
