Electronic Artist yaje Releases Debut EP ‘Exotic Exorcism Pt.1’

French-Moroccan artist yaje, known for her tragic-festive brand of electronic pop, is set to make waves with her debut 5-track EP, Exotic Exorcism Pt.1. Reminiscent of the styles of Grimes and Mylène Farmer, yaje’s music is a vibrant exploration of loneliness and self-discovery, reflecting her journey at the intersection of cultures. Her lead single, Alone Together, sets the stage for the full EP debut.

Exotic Exorcism Pt.1 is a captivating fusion of genres, combining her delicate voice with elements of breakbeat, drum and bass, techno, and the nostalgic vibes of 90s and 2000s electronic music. Through this project, yaje delves deep into personal themes while maintaining an infectious energy that invites listeners to purge themselves of their demons on the dancefloor. Her music is simultaneously introspective and uplifting, capturing the spirit of a woman navigating through the complexities of identity and human connection.

The lead single, Alone Together, was originally conceived as a folk ballad two years ago but evolved into a techno-driven anthem after yaje began experimenting with electronic elements. With its vocal chops, throbbing techno kick and pulsating bassline yaje crafts evokes a classic yet fresh sound. The song’s transformation came to life in a spontaneous creative burst while she was at her family home in Canberra, Australia, where feelings of nostalgia and youthful energy shaped the final version.

Alone Together addresses the inherent solitude of human consciousness while finding solace in the shared experience of life. “As humans, we are condemned to be alone since consciousness is an intimately solitary experience,” yaje explains. “But we all share this same experience, and it is within this collective that we find comfort and meaning.”

With Exotic Exorcism Pt.1, yaje invites listeners to join her on a journey of self-exploration through haunting beats and hypnotic melodies. From the funky French-speaking track of ‘DANGER’ to the soft and spacy synths of ‘Take M1 H0me’, yaje’s unique ability to blend dark, introspective themes with an infectious dance energy is a testament to her artistic vision, making her one of the most promising new voices in the electronic pop scene.
