Electronic experimentalist Yak 40 announces his debut album Travelogue

Yak 40, the moniker of electronic artist Egor Antoshchenko, is set to release his deeply personal debut album, Travelogue. Inspired by his life as a modern nomad, this record encapsulates the emotional depth and eclectic influences gained through two years of travel across Asia.

Yak 40’s early exposure to electronic icons such as Aphex Twin, The Orb, and Four Tet laid the foundation for his eclectic approach to production. His music blends genres seamlessly, balancing meditative ambiences with propulsive rhythms that reflect his deep emotional connection to each place he’s traveled.

Yak 40 first made waves with his 2022 EP Made in Nepal, recorded during a three-month stay in the Himalayas. In 2023 he received support from tastemaker media such as Four Four Mag and Electronic Groove. Now, with Travelogue, Yak 40 takes his sonic storytelling to new heights.

From the serene Himalayan villages of Nepal to the bustling streets of Bangkok, Travelogue immerses listeners in a richly textured soundscape of organic beats, ambient echoes, and dancefloor-ready techno.

Travelogue features a range of sonic textures, from broken beats to hypnotic techno and serene ambient compositions. Atmospheric and highly evocative, each track is a distinct vignette that mirrors the literal nomadic quality of its creation. The album flows like a journey itself, guiding listeners through frenetic energy to the meditative calm and back again.

With its use of organic sounds, dubby ambiences, and intricate rhythms, Travelogue is as much an emotional exploration as it is a physical one, reflecting Yak 40’s wanderlust and the diverse landscapes that shaped the album’s vision.

Speaking about the album, Yak 40 shares, “Travelogue is dedicated to all the nomads and free spirits in this world. It’s a reflection of the places that have shaped me—each track a postcard from my travels, an emotional snapshot of the diverse landscapes and cultures I’ve encountered.”

This release marks a milestone for Yak 40. Whether it’s through driving techno or introspective ambient compositions, Travelogue promises a dynamic and immersive listening experience.

Travelogue will be released on all major platforms 08 November 8
