Eli & Fur Release Official Remix of Betoko ‘Raining Again’

Betoko’s 2012 smash hit Raining Again is the gift that just keeps on giving. Internationally recognised as one of the biggest dance music anthems of the last fifteen years, March 2023 saw Berlin-based record label Embassy One launch a pioneering collaboration with music NFT marketplace twelve x twelve to drop a series of high profile remixes, inviting some of electronic music’s biggest artists to reimagine the iconic hit record.

Having inaugurated the series with a string of remixes from Roger Sanchez, Sharam Jey & Bakka and Betoko himself, the Berlin-based collaborators now announce the worldwide release of the fourth and final remix, courtesy of British DJ and producer duo, Eli & Fur. Released as an exclusive digital vinyl/music NFT with twelve x twelve on June 6, the highly sought-after cut now sees its official release on all streaming platforms via Embassy One.

Standing as one of the most exciting newcomer acts of the past decade, Eli & Fur deliver on creative artistry and technical prowess with a tasteful new interpretation, guiding the original into laidback, contemporary waters. Pivoting stylistically from Betoko’s 2012-counterpart, the famed duo welcomes us into a deeply alluring soundscape that champions organic percussion, emotive basslines and decorative, twinkling synths. The combination of elements nods to influences of world-music and ambient tones, giving listeners a completely new perspective through which to experience the track’s staple vocal line.

Originally released in 2012, Betoko’s legendary dance anthem – Raining Again – was labelled ‘Track of The Summer’ during its initial unveiling, and has since amassed over 13 million streams on Spotify alone and over 100 million hits worldwide across all platforms. A record that has no doubt stood the test of time, Embassy One’s initiative has sought to revive its global impact, whilst opening it up to a modern audience through a carefully curated band of remixers.

Why digital vinyl? The artist regains artistic freedom instead of algorithmic control, and their fans once again own a piece of music history. Through exclusive content and limited access, the artist and super fans foster a stronger connection and mutual growth.
