Emerging Ibiza Announce Experts, Talents and Wild Card Competition
Now that the word has gotten out there about Emerging Ibiza, the world is starting to get excited about discovering plenty of new talent via this fantastic new platform.
To recap, the taste-making website will see a carefully picked selection of Experts (all of whom are international DJs, label bosses and or established promoters) shine a light on who they think are the hottest new electronic music talents. These artists are then invited to play the Emerging Ibiza Discovery Festival from 27th May – 31st May 2014 with the most popular invited back to be a part of a season of Emerging Ibiza events in Ibiza from June to September.
We can now announce the full list of experts in no particular order, including Circus boss Yousef, ViVA Music label head Steve Lawler, Brazilian DJ, producer and D-Edge Club owner Renato Ratier, Ibiza regulars and Flying Circus chiefs Audio Fly, Detroit’s Visionquest members Shaun Reeves and Lee Curtiss, plus 8Bit boss Nick Curly, founder and artistic director of Ushuaia Yann Pissenem, established island promoter and DJ Chris Bones, and IMS co-founders Danny Whittle and Ben Turner.
Each of these taste-making talents is in the process of selecting their Emerging Artists for the first season, with some of the names already in place, as you can see.
Due to demand the team behind Emerging Ibiza have opened up a Wild Card option to extend to those not lucky enough to have already been put forward by one of the experts. If you think you have what it takes to make it with the big wigs of Ibiza, then this bit is for you!
Aspiring DJs and producers can upload their own 30-minute mix to Mixcloud, with each one being judged by the EI panel of Experts. All the best mixes will then be made available on the EI Mixcloud and then the public get involved by listening, voting and sharing on social networks. Anyone who enters must not have played Ibiza before and winning entries will be judged on originality, style and technical ability. Prizes will then be handed out for the most voted for and popular mixes:
Prize 1 – Play A Show At The E.I. Break-Thru Festival 27th – 31st May
Prize 2 – Play A Show At The E.I. Season of Events June – Sept 2014
Prize 3 – Play The E.I. Closing Party September 2014
Prize 4 – A One Year Management Contract With Leading Electronic Management Company
1 x Return Flight, Accommodation in Ibiza & Living Expenses paid.
The Emerging Artists will be showcased across no less than nine events in five days at the Emerging Ibiza Break-Thru Festival 27th – 31st May. With access to some of the hottest tickets in Ibiza that week all included with the Emerging Ibiza weekly pass this really is a groundbreaking new concept! At only €99/£85 for entry to all events including a boat party, a pool party, entry to the opening of the Zoo Project, entry to the E.I Break-Thru Festival Closing party at Ushuaia Tower, entry to Sankeys for Mental Genius and last but not least all Emerging Ibiza weekly pass holders will also get entry to the Ants opening party at Ushuaia on Saturday the 31st.
