Following the success of his Rose Avenue debut with ‘Body Test’ back in August 2023, Los Angeles-based producer Enamour now makes his eagerly anticipated return to RÜFÜS DU SOL’s imprint with the announcement of his brand new ‘Rune’ EP. A collaborative project together with Rose Avenue mainstay Paraleven, the two-part ‘Rune’ EP is an out-and-out masterclass in dynamic, forward-thinking melodic techno courtesy of two producers operating at the very top of their game right now, and is available now across all major platforms.
Opening the EP with the February-released single ‘Can’t Stay’, Enamour and Paraleven draw on the vocal expertise of Scottish singer-songwriter ALLKNIGHT (aka Jodie Knight), who delivers a mesmerising topline to compliment the two producers’ powerful, immaculately produced backdrop. Backboned by heavy bass stabs, arpeggiated synth refrains and ethereal atmospheres throughout, the majestic peak-time cut already looks set to become a staple weapon in the arsenals of the international touring elite over the course of 2024.
Offering listeners a fresh perspective with the EP’s title track ‘Rune’, Enamour and Paraleven present us with a blissful slice of deep, melodic techno that showcases a different side to their multi-faceted skillset. Adopting a more stripped back approach, the collaborators champion bright synths, deep basslines and rousing, cinematic breakdowns as they pull out all the stops to close out the EP in style.
Speaking about the collaboration, Enamour commented:
“Both tracks on the EP emerged from exchanging ideas that we had plateaued on solo. Collaborating online, we picked up where the other left off, allowing for a seamless yet individual creative flow. It’s like a color palette, where an in-person studio collab is the mixing of colors into a new shade, but online, each of our styles remains distinct but together forms a beautifully coordinated spectrum.”
Paraleven went on to say:
“Before I released any music as Paraleven, I was a big fan of Enamour and decided to go to a show he was playing in Atlanta. After the show, I had the chance to meet him and ask him if it was cool to send him a few of my own songs for feedback. He was kind enough at the time to provide me with a few tips for those songs that ultimately became my first release on Lane 8’s imprint ‘This Never Happened’. Since then, we crossed paths a few more times and eventually drummed up the conversation of potentially working on something together. The ‘Rune’ EP has been in the works for a long while. I have been featuring the songs in my performances for over a year. Excited to finally share these.”
