Energy Whores Release Exciting New Single – ‘Pretty Sparkly Things’

Genre-defying electronic outfit Energy Whores announce the release of their biting new single Pretty Sparkly Things – Known for their fearless fusion of synth-pop, avant electro, and political commentary, the band once again deliver a track that dances between upbeat euphoria and dark, unflinching satire…

Formed in a DIY basement studio in New York City, Energy Whores is led by Carrie Schoenfeld (a classically trained pianist, indie filmmaker and Off-Broadway producer) alongside guitarist Attilio Valenti. Renowned for their distinctive blend of avant electro, synth-pop, and experimental art rock, the band has carved out a unique space where political theatre meets dance-floor rebellion.

Schoenfeld describes her ethos plainly: “I am a sonic insurgent. A lyrical arsonist. I don’t write love songs. I write warning signs.” With each release, she pushes listeners into new territory — unearthing uncomfortable truths while crafting soundscapes that are as hypnotic as they are confrontational.

Pretty Sparkly Things marries pulsing synths, keys, and guitar with Schoenfeld’s sharp lyricism, offering a sonically vibrant track that refuses to hide its barbed edges. The result is an upbeat dance anthem with a message: a mirror held up to consumer culture, dripping with irony yet impossible to ignore. The single is accompanied by a visually arresting official video, continuing the band’s tradition of pairing bold music with provocative imagery.

“This song is about how society dangles unattainable dreams in front of us while so many people are struggling just to survive,” says frontwoman Carrie Schoenfeld. “It’s satire, but it’s also deadly serious because this obsession with luxury and status is what keeps the machine grinding us down.”

The band has garnered critical attention from outlets such as CLASH Magazine and Fame Magazine, alongside widespread playlisting and independent radio support with ‘Hey Hey Hate’ – their first preview of the upcoming full-length project Arsenal of Democracy, slated for a 2025 vinyl release; The album promises an immersive mix of EDM, electro-pop, and experimental art rock, underpinned by folk-rooted lyricism and razor-sharp social commentary. Fans can expect more singles throughout summer 2025, plus visuals, live sessions, and tour announcements on the horizon. Known for their ability to pair urgent themes with addictive grooves, Energy Whores are steadily building a reputation as one of the most uncompromising acts in the alternative electronic scene.

“We’re not here to soothe,” says Schoenfeld. “We’re here to shake you up.”

Energy Whores’ upcoming album Arsenal of Democracy (due October 2025) will further explore this terrain, delivering socially charged storytelling wrapped in electrifying rhythms. With their finger firmly on the pulse of the cultural moment, Energy Whores aren’t just making music—they’re igniting a movement.
