Bass maestro Eptic debuts the full-length version of his highly anticipated “Flesh & Blood” EP on Monstercat, featuring three brand new tracks brimming with dark, driving and ominous sounds of electronic music’s heaviest genres. After releasing “Let it Go” with Dillon Francis and “Power” earlier this summer, Eptic finishes the EP strong with “Violence,” “Beyond the Stars,” and “Undefeated.” The distorted vocal snippets from news reports set the nefarious tone for “Violence” even before the track breaks down into grinding, serrating bass, consisting of one of the harder tracks on the EP. “Beyond the Stars” feels otherworldly with its video game-inspired sound effects and dreamy riffs, while “Undefeated” is Eptic‘s final and jarring crescendo in this sonic journey. All five tracks of “Flesh & Blood” are hybrid monsters of dubstep, trap, bass and electro, representative of Eptic‘s dynamic and unique sound. Read on below for additional insight into this very personal project:
“I’m excited and proud to present this new ep to you all. The whole thing has been in the works for almost a year, and it’s the most blood, sweat, and tears I’ve ever put into the musical and visual aspect of a project. I’ve field-tested all of these songs out during my shows and made so many adjustments over time to make sure everything bangs in a live setting. There are a whole lot more new music and unexpected collaborations coming, paired with a brand new merch line as well. This is the most excited I’ve been in my career so far, and I hope you are too.” – Eptic
Since bursting onto the scene with his “Like a Boss” EP on Never Say Die Records in 2014, musical wunderkind Eptic has established himself as one of the most formidable young players in bass music. After his debut EP soared to the top of the Beatport dubstep charts for 7 weeks straight, it was clear that Eptic was here to stay. He has had a streak of successful releases on Never Say Die and Spinnin’ Records, and recently released the heavy-hitting “SouthSide” with DJ Snake. The multi-talented Eptic not only illustrates all of his tracks’ music videos and designs his show’s live visuals, but he also runs a highly entertaining vlog on Youtube, which has featured guest appearances by the likes of Skrillex and other special guests. Keep an eye out for what he cooks up next!
