Exit 11 Debuts On Glasgow Underground

On 1st November, the hugely acclaimed Glasgow Underground will release a vital new single from Exit 11 entitled ‘Night of the Jaguar’ which proves why he is one of the most exciting artists of the moment. The superb new single tastefully covers DJ Rolando’s classic ‘Knights Of The Jaguar’ and comes hot on the heels of Exit 11’s ‘Stay With Me’ – a collaboration with Calvin Logue on Spinnin’ Deep – and finds him serve up a classy and emotive house masterpiece. Exit 11 is fast making a name for himself on the underground house scene with his fresh productions. His high-level studio skills suggest an interesting past but Exit 11 is only looking forwards, with tracks on seminal labels like Subliminal Records and Spinnin’ Deep turning plenty of heads. Not only have the likes of Steve Lawler, Hot Since 82 and Nic Fanciulli been supporting his music, but BBC Radio 1 tastemaker Danny Howard has also given him due props.

Next to cooking up real heat in the studio, Exit 11 is laying down compelling, carefully selected sets at key venues like XOYO and fabric and has a wealth of new music ready to go on MK’s Area 10 and Armada. Now, building on a discography that already includes acclaimed singles ‘Masakali’ and ’Unbutu’, is this latest majestically melodic offering.

‘Night of the Jaguar’ lands on Kevin McKay’s long running and revered Glasgow Underground, a label which has been setting the house and techno agenda for those in the know since 1997. It’s been home to legendary artists like Romanthony and Mateo & Matos as well as introducing producers like Brett Gould and Illyus & Barrientos, so Exit 11 finds himself in fine company here.

With nods to a timeless Detroit classic, ‘Night of the Jaguar’ is the sort of melodic house adventure that sweeps you up and takes you along for a thrilling electronic ride: the warm, bubbly drums and crisp percussion set the groove while the loopy synth phrases lift you to the heavens. As they soar through a cosmic sky, big blasts of bass add real weight to ensure this one makes a dramatic impact in the club.
