Surreal House producer Villows released his latest single, ‘Lucid’, on the 7th of October via Careless Collective. The single premiered on Electronic Groove. Spanning a diverse range of Electronic genres, the producer’s music has accumulated approximately 3 million streams on Spotify alone, while his previously released single ‘Dimmest Light’, in collaboration with Niicap, reached over one million streams on the platform. A growing name in the industry, Villows has been supported by publications Stereofox, Acid Stag, Casablanca Sunset, deathordesire and had his music featured on multiple well-known YouTube channels, namely MrRevillz, Get The Sound, Wanderlust, and Czech Vibes Sound among others. On air, his music was added to Shallou’s Sirius XM Chill Mix and received spins on Tomorrowland Radio with Austin Kramer.
Raised in New Jersey, but residing outside Philadelphia, USA, Vince Tobia, better known as Villows, grew up playing the piano and soon learned to pick a guitar. During high school, he was a member of several bands, where he contributed to New Jersey’s vibrant pop-punk scene. Later, fed up with writing punk songs, he set out to create a new sound, relying heavily on synthesizers instead of guitars. The producer cites Odesza, Rufus Du Sol, and Petit Biscuit as his inspirations, while his own music hints at artists such as Shallou, Kasbo, and Yoste.
From late nights at his bedside table, the chill house producer and self-proclaimed insomniac drops the 2nd single from his upcoming Dreams EP. In a ‘Lucid’ dream where anything can be imagined, he chooses only to imagine the person he loves. Villows’ newest track combines mesmerizing ambient samples, spacey guitars, and infectious leads played over a pulsating beat. His signature airy vocals are on full display as he depicts this unique love story, delivering a certain complex euphoria that fans have come to love.
Describing the single’s concept, Villows tells us: “I’ve been obsessed with lucid dreaming for as long as I can remember, and while they are rare, I’m very fortunate to have had several in my lifetime. Amongst the lure of endless possibilities, it’s quite beautiful to choose to spend this time imagining someone special. It’s really an ultimate act of love, and the true meaning behind this track.”
