Rebuke follows up his striking debut for Nic Fanciculli’ Saved with another stunning EP, backed up with a remix from house royalty in Harry Romero.
Rebūke may be a new name to most but he’s already making all the right moves, with his debut ‘EP1' having dropped on Nic Fanciulli's Saved imprint back in January. Championed by Nic himself for the past three months, ‘EP1’ featured the glorious disco clunk of 'Burma Apaches' and the head twisting synth workout ‘Aftman’ which had been a highlight of Fanciulli's sets through the latter part of 2017, while ‘Burma Apaches’ was featured on his November 2017 Radio 1 Essential Mix.
Yet again SOUP NYC are ahead of the curve in signing promising new talent, with Rebuke’s ‘Far Out EP’ dropping just in time to light up summer dance floors around the world. Title track ‘Far Out’ is a frenetic dance floor heater, with scything percussion and whirling strands of synths and vocals combining to create a cataclysmic breakdown that will stand out in even the most visceral of sets.
House legend Harry Romero does what he does best on the remix, reigning things in a touch in a taut, bubbling hypnotic groove. Playing us out, ‘Sometimes’ is a seething, tense, techy affair: before whirling, looped vocals and metallic synth lines once again lead us to heady dance floor oblivion.
