Felix Raphael heartfelt single ‘Sincerity (a piece right of your soul)’ – Out Now

Felix Raphael, Berlin’s live artist/producer/multi-instrumentalist/vocalist, gives a third intriguing taste of his forthcoming themed album ‘DO YOU’ with single ‘Sincerity (a piece right of your soul)’ out now on [PIAS] Électronique. The full LP drops on November 28^th.

LP ‘DO YOU’:  the mental health theme, using Raphael’s own challenges and social work experience to help others inside or outside the music industry, is ultimately positive, celebrating the joy of creativity & performance. In four ‘stanzas’ or phases, he highlights issues like comparison with others; professional ups and downs; music industryexpectations; and the need to accept ourselves, to care for our mental health through openness, therapy, and seeking happiness in simple things.

Raphael’s multiple talents are ideal for such a project, with his engaging, heart-stirring blend of melodic & organic house with indie folk elements, purpose-designed for live performance where he plays guitar, piano, synth, & saxophone and deploys his rich, warm vocal gifts. He even learned to play flugelhorn for the LP, as a ribbon of sound subtly tying the tracks together, its soft ‘brass band’ vibe both warm and soulful.

‘Sincerity (a piece right of your soul)’: pin-sharp production ensures the rich layering of strands remains distinct, as rippling synth patterns, piano phrases, swift breaksy percussion, move up and down like scattered arps, reflecting the highs & lows of experience. The indie feel is strong, especially in Raphael’s rich, warm, emotional vocal and heartfelt lyrics.
