Field Day: More Names added

The ninth edition of Field Day will be held at Victoria Park, in the heart of East London on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June 2015.

New line up additions will be joining the likes of Caribou, RIDE, Patti Smith, FKA Twigs, Django Django, Mac DeMarco, Savages, Run The Jewels, Hudson Mohawke, SOPHIE, Chet Faker and Nina Kraviz across the Field Day weekend.

Field Day will be welcoming a very special, new stage: the Jägerhaus. When you step inside you’ll discover an incredible venue that’s different to anything you’ve seen before. Home to ice cold Jägermeister, the Jägerhaus twists and turns as the day turns to night. We’ll be unearthing the freshest new bands and DJs, and a heap of surprises along the way. Don’t miss the likes of Telegram, Boxed In, Cheatahs, Formation, Jolta, Murkage, Rat Boy, Vaults, Zibra and more on the Saturday as well as Toy, Spring King, Tuff Love, Whilk & Misky, Zun Zun Egui, All Tvvins, Cut  Ribbons, Kagoule and more on the Sunday.

Also confirmed are the inimitable QT, who joins Field Day Saturday to bring yet more of the awesome PC Music sound to Field Day (SOPHIE and A. G. Cook are already announced); as well as Peter Bibby, from the Tame Impala and Pond world, who will add his unique Aussie spirit to Field Day Sunday, plus Manchester’s own Bernard + Edith.

Field Day x The National Gallery’s Soundscapes exhibition

Field Day have teamed up with their friends at The National Gallery for an exclusive competition. The lucky winner will receive one pair of ticket to the National Gallery’s Soundscapes exhibition (8th July – 6th September) and one pair of VIP tickets to Field Day London (Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th June).

Soundscapes
Hear the painting, See the sound

The National Gallery has commissioned musicians and sound artists to select a painting from the collection and compose a new piece of music or sound art in response. Immersive and site-specific, the experience encourages visitors to ‘hear’ the paintings and ‘see’ the sound.

The exhibition includes new works by DJ, producer and Field Day alumni Jamie xx, composer Nico Muhly, Turner Prize-winning sound artist Susan Philipsz OBE, Oscar-winning film composer Gabriel Yared, recorder of wildlife and natural phenomena Chris Watson, and renowned installation and sound artists Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller.
