For most house music fans, cities like Detroit, Chicago, Berlin, and Miami come to mind as epicenters of the genre. Today, Atlanta based label Psycho Disco!is revealing another place to keep your eyes and ears on to uncover new sounds-Brazil.
Out today, Brazilian DJ and producer MKJAY joins the trendsetting label with a brand new EP, that throws it to the most classic of house music cuts, titled 'First Ride / Ladies.' A two-track release from the 20-year-old artist, "Ladies" sees MKJAY build upon a ticking hi-hat backbone with a minimal build to set the groove for a shuffle worthy break down. On "First Ride," MKJAY embarks on a deeper cut with a mesmerizing vocal loop that opens to a myriad of elements including bongos and triangle tings. Ideal for late-night club play, "First Ride" is intended to keep things sweaty and even a little bit raunchy.
To date, MKJAY is renowned for his production versatility that covers genres including Jackin House, Tech House, UK Bass, and Garage. His resume includes remixing and collaborations with Kyle Watson, Marc Spence, Treasure Fingers, Wongo, Rrotik, Aaron Jackson, BIJOU, Volac, Litek, and many others, and releases on labels Box Of Cats, Bodhi Coollective, Build It Records, and First Edition (AIA).
