Following two acclaimed EP releases last year and remixes for the likes of Lana Del Rey and Jakwob, burgeoning talent Sega Bodega aka Salvador Navarrete premieres a stunning bootleg of FKA twigs’ album highlight ‘Lights On’.
Taken from LP1, twigs’ Mercury prize nominated debut, Sega Bodega has flipped the track on its head, replacing the slow burning synthwork of the original into a plunging club-ready number. Whilst twigs’ vocals still dominate, they’ve been cut and re-shaped to create an eerie refrain around the pneumatic percussion of the Glasgow producer’s edit.
Navarrete has seen widespread support from The Guardian, The Fader, Yours Truly, DAZED, Clash, Abeano, XLR8R and more, plus spins from BBC Introducing, Huw Stephens, Rob Da Bank and Mary Anne Hobbs at radio, cementing Sega Bodega as one of the UK’s fastest rising electronic artists.
