The visionary DJ and producer welcomes new melodic influences on his latest cut

Vietnamese-French DJ and producer Florian Picasso returns with his intoxicating new single
‘Habibi’, out 3rd November on his brand new label imprint La Californie Musique.

A sonic left turn for the ever-explorative artist, ‘Habibi’ sees Florian Picasso incorporating Middle Eastern influences into his palette, layering a soundscape of exotic guitar licks and enchanting vocal samples atop a pounding deep house groove.

Reflecting on the track, Florian said, “‘Habibi’ is the perfect peak time record in my set, building the final Arab influenced melody with a great bassline and atypical sonic elements.”

The single follows Florian’s appearance on the recent ADE Special EP Red Light Grooves, with his track ‘Funk Decision’ featuring alongside floor fillers from Echostorm, Hyyken and B/AN/K.

Visionary DJ & Producer Florian Picasso has had a momentous year. 2023 has seen the launch of his own imprint La Californie Musique, and the creation of a slew of tech-house bangers birthed in the legendary family home and atelier of his ancestor, the great Pablo Picasso. The steady slew of strong house tracks with raw underground influences produced in Villa La Californie in Cannes have been receiving support from renowned electronic music publications as well as from recognized artists, DJs, Radio Shows and the Dance community at large.

Continuing his family’s artistic legacy and taking after his great-grandfather, Florian has broadened his sonic palette and collaborated with artists from all over the globe, resulting in some truly eclectic and explorative music. October’s ADE Special EP Red Light Grooves saw the producer rubbing shoulders with artists ranging from Ireland to Dubai, while the summer anthems ‘Time’ and ‘Give Me Your Love’ were snapshots of Florian in his melodic element. 

Family name aside, Florian Picasso is fast becoming a globally revered DJ. Having played festivals including Tomorrowland and Ultra Miami, making it into DJ Mag’s top 100 DJs multiple times, and collaborated with icons including John Legend and Nas, this is an artist writing his own legendary story. The latest chapter, ‘Habibi’ is another unique slice of club magic from Florian Picasso.
