flowanastasia & Tyr Kohout unveil new single ‘Charter’ on In The Lab Recordings

Toronto-based duo flowanastasia & Tyr Kohout return with their brand-new single ‘Charter’, out now via In The Lab Recordings. Renowned for their live synergy and far-reaching Drum & Bass palette, the pair continue to push their sound forward with a track that fuses emotional depth and emotional clarity.

The duo have been steadily rising across Europe and North America, propelled by a live setup that sees flowanastasia commanding the mic with original material and hosting duties, while Tyr Kohout delivers his trademark technical precision behind the decks. Their busy touring schedule has taken them through the UK, France, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium as well as their home turf of Canada. In 2024 they marked major milestones with debut appearances at Rampage Open Air, Exit Festival, and Liquicity Festival.

flowanastasia has become one of Drum & Bass’s most recognisable vocal talents, nominated for Best Vocalist at the 2022 Drum&BassArena Awards. Her catalogue has surpassed 27 million Spotify streams, with releases on Metalheadz, Critical, and Liquicity, plus collaborations with the likes of Mefjus, S.P.Y, Nymfo, Pythius, Rido and GLXY. Her work has featured on BBC Radio 1 and UKF Drum & Bass, gained full support from Spotify and Apple’s editorial teams, and even found its way to the stage with a 35-piece UK orchestra at OrchestRAM for her track ‘The One’. Originally from Ukraine, she frequently draws on themes of optimism and mental well-being in her writing.

Tyr Kohout is a producer, DJ, and sought-after sound engineer with releases on Deviant Audio, Shogun, Liquicity, Viper, Pilot, Hospital, Anjunabeats and more. His music has been supported on BBC Radio 1, UKF, Drum & Bass Arena, Inspector Dubplate, VISION Radio and Skankandbass, alongside interviews with Love That Bass and DnB Portal. Among fellow producers, he’s earned a reputation as a “scientist of sound”, bolstered by his production and mastering tutorials on STRANJAH’s YouTube channel. He also engineers and co-writes all of flowanastasia’s Drum & Bass vocal releases.

Working together since 2017, performing live since 2019, and marrying in 2023, the pair’s creative partnership has only strengthened with time. They’ve shared stages with KOVEN, Calyx & TeeBee, RUSKO, State Of Mind, and LTJ Bukem, and played at club nights including Get In Step (Paris), The Hive (Vienna), Lakota (Bristol), Blackout (Utrecht), and Cheeky Monday (Amsterdam). Their guest mixes include appearances on Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy, DnB Girls, and Data Transmission.
