FRACTURES reveals mesmerising new single ‘Last’

Electronic producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist FRACTURES is gracing us with brand new single ‘Last’ on April 13th, the latest instalment from his forthcoming LP titled Shift

The release comes off the back of success with past singles ‘Burnt’ and ‘Medium’, being added to playlists such as Spotify’s Global Fresh Finds, as well as a Fresh Finds AU/NZ, cultivating incredible support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, triple j, The Guardian and The Fader.

FRACTURES concocts a unique yet cohesive sound on the club-stomping ‘Last’, with layers of shimmering production and complex rhythms. The track follows a conversation between two people before and during a fleeting romantic interaction, the narrative paired alongside a mesmerising house beat.

“’Last’ is about a hookup that turned into something else”, the Melbourne-based artist says about the track. “Someone looking for fun who found more. I don’t do this myself so I have to create these scenarios just so I can feel like a lothario at some point in my life. And boy did I when writing this. The song was just meant to be fun, it’s house music, it’s 90s, so everything in it needed to match. It’s not a deep thinker, it’s just meant to bring light really. I hope it does.”

FRACTURES is the moniker of Melbournian singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Mark Zito. His discography has seen support from BBC Radio 1 and amassed over 40 million streams globally. The fast-rising talent is also signed to Fader Label, alongside the likes of Clairo, and has opened for the likes of Daughter, Holy Holy, Wild Beasts. Collaboratively he has thrown himself in the deep end, working with various artists on esteemed electronic label Anjunadeep.

With the announcement of his upcoming album Shift, set to release in June 2023, the Naarm-based electronic artist has marked a new era. After some years of sonic transformation, experimentation and growth, FRACTURES has shifted from his ambient/liminal roots, now exploring deep house production and soundscape.

Continuing his hot streak, ‘Last’ is another jewel in FRACTURES’ increasingly hyped album campaign.
