Dogmatik Digital returns in late February with Francesco Robustelli’s ‘After Midnight’ EP, comprising four original tracks from the Italian producer.
Italian born now Amsterdam based artist Francesco Robustelli is a resident at Schmeck Pony, regularly on the bill at Studio 80 on his home turf and has most notably unleashed material on Rotterdam’s infamous Manual Music imprint. Here Robustelli slots into the Dogmatik roster, placing him in good company alongside the likes of Dusky, Maya Jane Coles and Jovonn.
Title cut ‘After Midnight’ kicks things off and sees Francesco provide a low-slung percussive bumper infused with dark atmospheric textures and evolving bass tones, while ‘Black Boxed’ dubs things out with swirling echoes, a tom-driven bass hook and processed vocal licks.
On the flip ‘Episode 1’ lays the focus on a bumpy bass groove and raw stab sequences then closer ‘Yield’ completes the package on a mind-bending stripped back tip with bubbling drones and crunchy rhythms.
Francesco Robustelli’s ‘After Midnight’ EP is out on 22nd February 2015.
