Kristin Velvet - Friday the 12th

Kristin Velvet returns to her Arms & Legs imprint to release two timeless cuts entitled ‘Friday the 12th’ EP including two techno remixes from Swedish legend and H-Productions founder Cari Lekebusch.

Berlin-based Australian, Kristin Velvet has been helming Daniel Steinberg and Nils Ohrmann’s Arms & Legs imprint for a few years now which includes releases and remixes from the likes of 808 State, Nick Holder, Paul Johnson, Robert Armani, Crazy P and DJ W!LD. ‘Friday the 12th’ EP follows Velvet’s recently released remix for Jesse Saunder’s seminal house classic ‘On & On’, a solo EP on Cassy’s Kwench imprint and her ongoing project with Felix Da Housecat ‘Cats Love Velvet’ on Arms & Legs. On remix duties, Cari Lekebusch has been a figurehead within the techno scene for nearly 30 years, heading up his H-Productions imprint which features previous releases from Adam Beyer, The Advent, Joel Mull, Jesper Dahlbäck to name a few.

‘Friday the 12th’ kicks things off with crunchy modulations, resounding kicks and hypnotic synth swirls before Cari Lekebusch’s remix delivers ethereal elements balanced with winding oscillations and effervescent percussion. ‘Maskenball’ then delivers a playful club track fusing emphatic leads, a deep riding bassline and alluring strings before Lekebuschs’ ‘Mantis Mix’ rolls things out with enchanting atmospheres, otherworldly sound design and undulating tension.
