The final musical additions for Arcadia's landmark 10th anniversary festival on the May Day Bank Holiday have now been unveiled, with the likes of Matador, Max Cooper, Paul Woolford, Digital Mystikz, DJ Vadim and Norman Jay joining a stellar bill for two spectacular shows.
Playing across two 360 degree immersive worlds as giant fireballs fly, lightning crackles through the capital and spiders the size of cars crawl across the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the full sonic matrix has sharpened into vivid focus.
Saturday's house and techno soundscape sees Matador's blend of melodic futurism and minimalist funk join Max Cooper's emotive journeys through the physics of frequency. Defying categorization, the inimitable Paul Woolford
spans a breathtaking spectrum ranging from experimental electronica to hardcore breakbeat via chunky acid house and rolling techno while Carnival legend and national treasure mixes up his signature fusion of house, rare groove, funk, and free flow good times. From sunshine grooves to the deepest techno wormholes – from feelgood basslines to cybernetic vortexes, the full 4 to the floor spectrum is set to sweep through Arcadia's multi sensory biomechanical world
Sunday's bass onslaught just got heavier with dubstep pioneers Coki and Mala (Digital Mystikz) bringing bone shaking basslines to the East London epicentre as turntablist extraordinaire and sonic ninja DJ Vadim anchors the day in roots, reggae and hip hop's urban soul. Rolling out the ragamuffin jungle flavours is the man like Ed Solo who's betting he can out fyah the Arcadia burners alongsideSerial Killaz bad boy dubs and searing junglist pressure. – the countdown is on
Two days. Two 360 degree worlds. Two sonic heartbeats. One 50 tonne flame throwing Spider. Mini spiders the size of cars. 60 foot fireballs. Multi million volt lightning bolts. A world famous immersive show where circus, theatre and the dancefloor collide. New performances and installations set to drop. This is Arcadia London. An experience like no other
