Full names announced for Outlook Orchestra

For almost a decade Outlook Festival has been pushing boundaries of bass music, setting a solid-gold standard for festivals the world over. To mark a historical ten years, the Outlook team and the Southbank Centre have curated special show ‘Outlook Orchestra,’ an evening of live music on January 12th with artists from Outlook’s history. Legendary names Pharaohe Monch, Congo Natty and Dawn Penn are set to perform on the Southbank stage alongside Foreign Beggars, Newham Generals, Jehst and more for 100 minutes of music live mixed by Adrian Sherwood and Mad Professor.

Leading the night is the creative force behind Submotion Orchestra and Gentleman’s Dub Club, Tommy Evans, and on introduction duties is the iconic Mary-Anne Hobbs – a presenter famed for her instrumental part in pushing breakout UK genres to the forefront. Over 100 minutes of live mixing from scene stalwarts Mad Professor and Adrian Sherwood combined with dancefloor favourites and live acts make up the night, all performed by Outlook favourites, vocalists and MCs.

Hailing from Queens, NYC, ‘Simon Says’ rapper Pharoahe Monch joins the birthday affair, alongside junglist hero Congo Natty (aka Rebel MC). No Outlook Festival affiliated evening would be complete without the unmistakeable tones of original reggae Queen Dawn Penn, and Foreign Beggars will represent the sounds of UK hip-hop on the night. OG Grime duo Newham Generals have been instrumental in building the foundations of the genre all over the world, and they’ll being their trademark London noise to the Southbank too.

General Levy The ‘Incredible’ is set to bring his play on the night joining MCs and Outlook Festival family Flowdan and Killa P, as well as YNR Productions boss Jehst. Submotion Orchestra’s Ruby Wood joins the bill, as does Manchester vocal queen Jenna G, plus Nanci & Phoebe (aka Irondread) and MC Jila from Gentleman’s Dub Club. Keep eyes peeled for more special performances on the night from friends and family old and new.

Welcoming the finest names from bass, reggae, hiphop, dubstep, DnB and beyond, Outlook Festival attracts punters from around the globe to experience music in the way its supposed to be; through custom built sound systems.
