Southern California based Pop and R&B singer-songwriter Gabby Neeley releases her brand new single ‘Expectations’ taken from her EP ‘Coping’.
Fueled with a passion for music, Southern California based Pop/R&B singer-songwriter Gabby Neeley grew up in a musically inclined family having started piano and vocal lessons from the age of 8. From there, she tapped into her passion for creative writing and began songwriting. With 6 singles under her belt, Gabby’s newest offering is a statement of the artist she has grown into.
“Expectations, was written in the mess of being quarantined after going through an intense breakup.” Gabby explains. “Expectations taps into a point of view I don’t think many artists ever voice; The fact that being in a partnership where I felt loved, respected, wanted, loyal, makes any hookup culture or temporary casual thing feel completely disappointing and pointless.”
Speaking more along the lines of the writing process Gabby mentions “Expectations was the risk of the EP. It was one of those mornings I woke up and went downstairs to my piano to get out some random ideas I could feel on the tip of my tongue.”
Expectations is the follow up to both ‘coping’ (single) and ‘block u out’ which are taking from her new EP. Gabby has beautifully explored her past and shinned it in a light that makes it feel bittersweet and somewhat fulfilling at the same time. With oozing melody, groovy beats and Gabby’s exceptionally alluring vocal taking centre stage, it’s clear that ‘Expectations’ is the result of Gabby putting her retrospective passed into something that she will always appreciate.
There is such a charm to the music Gabby Neeley creates, and this is only the start of what’s to come in 2021 and beyond for her.
