Gabry Ponte & Nicky Romero debut with ‘Rave Music’

Gabry Ponte and Nicky Romero, two of dance music’s most prominent forces finally exchange sonics on adrenaline-pumping debut collaboration, ‘Rave Music.’

Adding fuel to the fire, Gabry Ponte invites Nicky Romero to his techno-driven label PENTAPHONIA Records, where both esteemed producers are free to go unfiltered and all-in on their respective raving roots. It comes as no surprise then, that ‘Rave Music’ is a high-octane, peak-time anthem set to blow the roof off. The single pays equal homage to the raw sound and boisterous energy of classic rave, with thunderous kicks, razor-sharp synths and explosive drops. Yet its also paves forward clean-cut production style with a vivacious big room melody, futuristic zorbing effects and computerised vocals, which transfers seamlessly onto modern dancefloors.

The term “legend” is often thrown around, however, a name worthy of the title is Gabry Ponte. With over 6 billion worldwide streams to his name, Gabry Ponte is Italy’s top-streamed DJ/producer. A founding figure of Eiffel 65, and the producer behind Grammy-nominated single ‘Blue (da ba dee),’ his influence on dance music culture is undeniable. ‘Thunder’ with LUM!X and ‘Mockingbird’ with Tiësto and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and ‘Tutta L’Italia’ are just a glimpse of his modem successes which have soared the charts amongst a vast list of solo accolades. Yet at his core, Gabry Ponte remains club raver who is curious to the dark confides of an underground bunker club and the intimate DJ-to-crowd chemistry ignited. It’s this music-first experience that Gabry Ponte plans to scale to 55,000 partygoers later this month as he becomes the first DJ to headline San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy.

A pioneer in his own right, Dutch DJ and producer Nicky Romero was at the forefront of the late 2000s EDM boom and has held his title as a leading visionary in electronic music ever since. The Protocol Recordings boss, and musical mastermind behind timeless tracks like ‘Toulouse’ and the chart-topping hit ‘I Could Be The One,’ boasts an almighty catalogue and is a go-to collaborator for fellow heavyweights such as David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, Hardwell and Afrojack when it’s time to spark flames in the studio. Nicky Romero now gears up for yet another jam-packed summer on the road, with stops at Las Vegas’ iconic Zouk Club, Dreamfields Festival, and the world’s biggest dance music festival, Tomorrowland. Expect ‘Rave Music’ to become an essential weapon in his USB arsenal!
