Underground house heroes Gettoblaster and Nathan Barato unite for new single ‘The Move’ featuring Tony Duke out now via Dirtybird Records.
‘The Move’ was born out of a chance meeting with Indian beatboxer Tony Duke in a Denny’s in Dallas after Gettoblaster’s performance at Lights All Night. Awe-struck by Duke’s scat vocal, Gettoblaster and Nathan Barato found immediate synergy as they produced the track, adding overzealous percussion and rolling basslines to provide nonstop rhythms. Duke’s very first vocal in the world of electronic music, the track marks a vibrant return to the label for Gettoblaster and debut for Nathan Barato. ‘The Move’ is a hypnotic house heater that will have clubland absolutely addicted.
Raised on Chicago’s underground sounds, Gettoblaster has created his own futuristic warehouse style. His releases on Defected, Glitterbox, Repopulate Mars, Basement Leak, Hot Haus, Desert Hearts, and their own Aliens On Mushrooms imprint are well rinsed by Claptone, Dom Dolla, Shiba Sann, Danny Howard, Patrick Topping, Solomun, Chris Lake, and more.
Born out of the Toronto clubbing scene, Nathan Barato is one of Canada’s most sought after house and techno names. His unmistakable sound has led him to residencies with Music On, Paradise, and Elrow, and landed him on labels such as Hot Creations, Hottrax, Rekids, Relief, and Saved Records. ‘The Move’ marks Nathan Barato’s first release on Dirtybird.
