Devon James teams up with fellow US producer Ant LaRock for Ghetto Style, a menacing house cut complete with stellar remixes from Junior Sanchez and Eyes Everywhere.
Boston-bred, Brooklyn based producer, DJ and engineer Devon James makes music your girlfriend likes: or your boyfriend, cousin, friend or pretty much anyone if they’re into vital house music with a raw core. Here he teams up with the genre-bending talents of Ant LaRock on Ghetto Style: a deep, twisted, brooding record that crackles with paranoid tension.
Remixes come from house legend Junior Sanchez and former Essential New Tune awardees Eye Everywhere. The former softens the vibe of the original, adding timbale-inspired rhythms and chugging bass pulses for a groove-heavy workout, while Eyes Everywhere go for the jugular with a frenetic, fast-paced techno reimagining, complete with crackling synths leads and emotionally-charged chord changes.
