Currently, Ghost Loft is gearing up for the premiere of “Overflow,” a remarkable new track featuring poignant lyrics and his new use of horns and strings. The song and its accompanying video officially premiered via Complex.
Ghost Loft’s much-anticipated EP, Chocolate Haze is set for release in May. Chocolate Haze will prove to be a bold and daring surprise for Ghost Loft fans, as it finds the artist taking a new direction by brilliantly pulling from Brit Pop influences like The Beatles and Blur. The EP features psychedelic songwriting, highlighted by modern production and the use of 808 drums.
Ghost Loft is the moniker for Los Angeles-based musician, Danny Choi, who has a notable talent for making mesmerizing soundscapes that resonate with both loyal fans and industry veterans. Ghost Loft first hit the scene in 2012, with the release of his debut single, “Seconds,” which received widespread blog coverage and heavy play on UK national radio. In addition, the song was added to Australia’s Triple J rotation, after being selected as “Catch of the Day” by radio host, Zan Rowe.
Then, Ghost Loft released “So High,” which appeared as the first track on the compilation, Kitsuné AMERICA 2 by French record label Kitsuné. Wiz Khalifa included a version of “So High” on his album, Blacc Hollywood. The track includes rap lyrics by Wiz Khalifa and features the vocals of Ghost Loft. Following “So High” came Ghost Loft’s highly praised track, “Be Easy,” which premiered on Fader last October. The track was recently overhauled by rising rapper Danny Seth. Seth’s take on “Be Easy” premiered on Pigeons & Planes, and is setting the Internet positively abuzz. Listen to it here.
