Entschuldigung - Gina EP
To start off 2017, Word Up Records welcomes back production duo Entschuldigung for a thrilling new three track EP inspired by women and art.
Entschuldigung is Guillaume Atlan and Stephane Bejean-Lebenson, a project that finds two electro pop musicians collide perfectly. They have backgrounds in French touch, disco and indie and together fuse a new edgy electro sound that is cutting edge and artful.
Inspired by contemporary art and old hardware gear, the pair recorded this new release in their Paris studio and use it to pay homage to the women in all our lives. First up is the excellent ‘Gina Cecello’, a crisp and punchy electro pop nugget with chugging drums and loose melodic sounds all underpinned by a droning synth. Breathless vocals lend the whole thing an irresistible sense of charm and get the EP underway in fine style.
The brilliant ‘Killin Off the Day’ is a much slower and more sensuous tune, with fat and lazy drums and lush jazz keys all bringing a romantic vibe to the table. Tender and infectious, it is another fresh vocal offering that cannot fail to sweep you up.
Masterfully closing things down is ’S.W.A.T’, a more experimental and cosmic tune with bright sci-fi synths stretching out in all directions as punchy drums and discordant electro madness unfolds below. Immediate and arresting, it is a third different side to this accomplished duo.
All in all this EP offers some standout electro & more for every moment of the night and is sure to excel as a result.
