After his two woozy, quirky 2020 debut singles “Where the Flowers Grow” and “Sorry”, singer, composer, record producer, and dancer, Giora is establishing himself on the electronica scene. With the release of his new anthemic ballad ‘Safe in the Dark’ which sets chirpy and kaleidoscopic synths against fantastical lyrics, synthesizer work, and a cinematic vision.
‘Safe in the dark’ is the title track from his new EP, accompanied by his most ambitious music video yet showcasing a passion for performance art, movement, and storytelling. The video was created in collaboration with Nick Finegan, London-based director, and multi-disciplinary artist.
“It’s about coming to terms with the uncertainty that life presents. I realized that with self-love, hope, and a deep sense of who I am, I am able to overcome the toughest situations and remain grounded, no matter what happens next. It is also the first time I introduced chanting into my production, inspired by my Israeli heritage.” Giora explains.
A powerful and malleable collection of songs produced and mixed entirely by Giora himself. The EP: a well-working blend of modern pop elements and classic songwriting, ultimately gives birth to an almost timeless product, capable of appealing to a wide number of listeners. Lyrically, it places itself into the artist’s personal experience, as a journey of healing.
Giora draws on raw nature, a peaceful vision for the future, and an open heart to share the lessons and experiences that continue to shape him, proving that it’s never too late to chase your dreams.
Borrowing from a wide range of sonic and cultural influences, while striking a balance with poignant and skilled songwriting, Giora creates immersive, dreamy, and introspective journeys into his world.
