Scorch Felix is the new moniker of UK veteran, DJ Farouch, who has been involved in the dance music scene for over two decades. Having released on the DFL label, belonging to Radio 1’s Dreem Teem, and remixed S-Express in the mid-90’s, Farouch’s career was only ever going to go one way. Several impressive remixes later saw his portfolio include acts as diverse as Massive Attack, Michael Jackson, Ice-T and David Bowie before he was signed up to Fatboy Slim’s Southern Fried imprint.
Having recently remixed Martin Garrix and The Chainsmokers, his Scorch Felix alias allows this master of all trades to reinvent himself once again and to show he has yet another string to his bow, and what better way to showcase this new persona than with his red hot ‘Golden Shaker EP’. With more than just a slight nod to those early 90’s days in the UK, Golden Shaker is jam-packed full of nostalgic Rave vibes. Old stool pianos ring out, flanked by high-energy female vocals, broken beats, classic D ‘n’ B-influenced MCing and Rave stabs that will have ravers young and old reaching for the lakers. The release comprises of an Original and the Future House Remix and it will be hard for DJ’s to decide which to play first as both are certainties to bring the heat to clubs across the land as temperatures begin to plummet outside.
Release date is scheduled for October 10th but you can have an exclusive listen here and possible feature now in iHouseu.
