Goose Island announce free gig with Zuzu and Swimming Girls at their Shoreditch Brewpub on 2nd July

Chicago brewers Goose Island have today announced the second installment in theGoose Island Presents series, taking over their flagship Brewpub on Shoreditch High Street on Midway Day – Tuesday 2nd July.  Midway Day marks the exact middle of the year with 182 days before and after it and gives cause to celebrate with some exceptional music and beer Goose Island’s very own Midway Session IPA will be the focus beer for the evening but attendees will also have the opportunity to try different, sessionable beers brewed by the Goose Island Headbrewer which are perfect for the summer season.

Liverpool’s  Zuzu, whose earnest tales and thrilling hooks have set her apart as an artist not to take your eyes off in the months and years ahead will headline the show.  With big shows and festival appearances on the horizon, this enigmatic pop-rocker has toured with Courtney Barnett and has been tipped as an act to watch in 2019.

Also performing are Swimming Girls whose dazzling blend of neon indie-pop is bound to go down a storm. Bursting to fame supporting Pale Waves at the end of last year, their debut EP ‘Existential Fears’ released at the start of June is an outrageously addictive slice of perfectly pointed pop with an alternative feel.

The last Goose Island Presents show in May featured Lucia and Talk Show and the 100 capacity Goose Island Brewpub is an exciting addition to London’s live music scene.  The brewery created Radar Red IPA (5.4% ABV) for the last event and this show will celebrateMidway, one of Goose Islands flagship beers.

The 4.1% session IPA has a bright hop aroma with tropical and mandarin notes and medium-to-low bitterness and is perfect for the general trend towards hoppier beers.  Midway is sessionable, refreshing and easy drinking, so much so that it deserves its own national day, so celebrate Midway Day with Goose Island at the Brewpub in Shoreditch and embark on a journey through the exploration of underground music and the innovate world of craft beer.

The Brewpub also stocks a host of unique and innovative beers including Goose IPA and Chicago favourite 312 and the exclusively brewed Sour Sisters range, allowing consumers to explore Goose Island’s extensive range of powerful, hoppy brews.

Audiences will be able to get their hands on a bespoke goodie bag designed exclusively for the night which includes vouchers, beers and merch from the night (while stocks last).

Goose Island Presents Series will run throughout the year to showcase the very best in emerging artists and exciting Goose Island beers. Stay tuned for further details!
