The legend Phonique needs little introduction – with over 2 decades in the heart of Berlin’s freewheeling underground scene, he has consistently produced outstanding music and performances.
What’s more, he’s the founder and curator of the wonderful Zatar Music label – which is both an outlet for his own music and that of friends and collaborators.
Here he shares two outstanding remixes of his 2007 pop house classic Casualites, which features the vocals of Erlend Øye.
Gorje Hewek remixes the tune and brings it fully up-to-date with a irresistable rhythm track and tasteful synths – yet still allowing the iconic vocal to shine through. The Extended Remix spins out the track over a glorious eight and a half minutes, so listeners and dancers can luxuriate in this modern, melancholic masterpiece.
