Gostan – Klanga

French native Gostan burst onto the dance music scene earlier this year with a stunning debut, ‘Klanga’, amassing over half a million plays in just a few months. To satisfy fans’ thirst in the build up to the release of his greatly anticipated EP, out 28th November via Universal Music Germany, the Parisian phenomenon now unveils the magical music video to ‘Klanga’. Watch it now on VEVO.

Acting as the perfect accompaniment, this stunning video captures the true essence of ‘Klanga’. Entirely in sync with the track, the cheery film offers viewers 4 minutes of pure escapism, following three friends as they meander through the sun kissed city of Berlin. Featuring footage of the Berlin wall along with words from JFK’s speech, the video conveys a deeper message as it further enhances the historical undertone of Klanga’s original production.

A lighthearted and uplifting tune, ‘Klanga’ juxtaposes a piece of history with a new-house sound. Taking listeners on a trip back in time, Gostan utilizes a sample from one of John F. Kennedy’s esteemed 1963 speeches while its undeniably cheerful melody and beat conjure up a summery ambiance, which is sure to give listeners a welcome escape from the cold, dark winter ahead.

Rising Dutch electro-house duo, Pep & Rash have effortlessly transformed Gostan’s dreamy original into a big-room club anthem. Stripping away the Kennedy speech sample featured in the original, the pair let Gostan’s tropical house sax take the lead, delivering their own unique edge with a pounding bassline, choppy vocal snippets and steady winding synths, all building up to a full on future-house drop. Instantly picked up by Oliver Heldens to be featured on his Heldeep Radio show last week – it’s clear both the remix and original have been garnering support from all the right places. With more releases set to drop, Gostan has claimed his place at the forefront of the instrumental chill-house genre, as he prepares to bring us beautiful beach-vibe beats time and time again.
