Goya Menor and Nektunez have unveiled their world-conquering collaborative single ‘Ameno Amapiano Remix (You Wanna Bamba)’, out now on B1 / Ministry of Sound.
A unique combination of smooth, house-driven amapiano vibes, gospel-evoking backing vocals and Goya’s ruffneck bars, ‘Ameno Amapiano Remix (You Wanna Bamba)’ is a captivating track that’s pushing the globally-renowned genre into bold, exciting new territories.
Initially going viral in December, the track has now racked up 5 million YouTube views, 245,000 global Shazams, 2 million TikTok creations and 1.9 million Spotify streams amongst its long list of laudable stats. It has also made it onto the A-list on BBC Radio 1Xtra.
The track became the defining record of the recent ‘Detty December’, a term widely used for locals of Accra and Lagos, where the festive party season was underway with a lot of the diaspora making trips back to their respective hometowns for Christmas. Its success saw them share the stage and perform with Wizkid, Davido and Tiwa Savage amongst others, and they even recently performed it at a wedding as a surprise for the bride and groom (footage here).
Born in Benin City, Nigeria, Goya Menor is an Afro-Fusion artist who had been doing his thing in the underground for a long time before breaking through with ‘Ameno Amapiano Remix (You Wanna Bamba)’. A promising artist, Goya comes armed with energy, diversity and above all hype and vibes.
Nektunez is a US-based, Ghanaian multi-genre record producer, singer, songwriter, composer and entrepreneur. He developed an interest in music early in life, working with other musically inclined artists and honing his skills playing traditional and percussion instruments in high school, learning how to compose music on his own and spending countless hours in the studio perfecting his craft. He has since developed a unique sound underpinned by production that stands out.
We’re less than a month into 2022 and ‘Ameno Amapiano Remix (You Wanna Bamba)’ has already destined to become one of the year’s defining tracks.
